Another arbitration season is upon us.
A total of 40 players filed for arbitration ahead of the July 5 filing deadline.
Once a hearing is held, the neutral arbitrator leading the hearing has 48 hours to issue their decision. Players and their clubs can continue to negotiate up until an official ruling is made. While the arbitrator determines the player’s salary, it’s the team that decides whether the contract will be for one or two years — the exception here is for players in their final RFA year, who are only entitled to a one-year term.
This year’s hearings will be held in Toronto from July 20 to Aug. 4. Here’s the full schedule, which we’ll update as cases are settled, heard, and ruled upon:
ANAHEIM DUCKS
Chase De Leo
The Ducks re-upped De Leo for another season by signing him to a one-year, two-way deal worth $750,000 in mid-July.

BOSTON BRUINS
Danton Heinen
Signed two-year, $5.6 million contract with Bruins on July 9.
BUFFALO SABRES
Remi Elie
Elie agreed to a one-year, $700,000 contract with the Sabres on Aug. 1.
Jake McCabe
Jake McCabe and the Sabres avoided arbitration, agreeing to a two-year, $5.7 million contract on August 3.
Evan Rodrigues
The Sabres signed Rodrigues to a one-year, $2-million deal on July 25.
Linus Ullmark
The Sabres and Ullmark went to arbitration on Aug. 2, but agreed to a one-year, $1.325 million contract before the arbitrator made a ruling.
CALGARY FLAMES
Sam Bennett
Sam Bennett and the Flames avoided arbitration, agreeing on a two-year, $5.1-million contract.
Ryan Lomberg
The Flames avoid an arbitration hearing with Lomberg, signing him to a one-year, two-way deal worth $700,000 on July 16.
David Rittich
David Rittich and the Flames settled their arbitration case by agreeing on a two-year, $5.5 million contract.
Rinat Valiev
Calgary signed Valiev to a one-year, two-way contract worth $700,000 on July 16, avoiding arbitration.
CAROLINA HURRICANES
Anton Forsberg
Arbitration award: One year, $775,000 (Hearing date: Aug. 4)
Brock McGinn
The Hurricanes and Brock McGinn avoided arbitration, agreeing on a two-year deal before the hearing.
COLORADO AVALANCHE
J.T. Compher
Colorado avoids a hearing with Compher, with the two sides agreeing to terms on a four-year, $14-million deal on July 17.
Sheldon Dries
The Avalanche signed Dries to a one-year deal on July 25, avoiding arbitration.
Ryan Graves
Graves and the Avalanche agreed on a one-year pact worth $735,000 on July 8.
DALLAS STARS
Jason Dickinson
Dickinson and Dallas agreed to terms on a two-year, $3-million contract on July 11.
FLORIDA PANTHERS
MacKenzie Weegar
Weegar was awarded a one-year contract in arbitration on July 25 but terms of the deal were not released by the team.

Alex Iafallo
Signed two-year, $4.85-million contract with Kings on July 10.

Agreed to a two-year, $5.2-million deal with the Canadiens on July 11.

Inked a one-year deal worth $800,000 with Montreal on July 19.

Rocco Grimaldi
Arbitration award: One year, $1 million (Hearing date: Aug. 4)
Colton Sissons
The Predators signed Sissons to a seven-year, $20-million contract on July 23.
NEW JERSEY DEVILS
Will Butcher
The Devils avoided arbitration with Butcher by signing him to a three-year, $11.2 million contract on July 31.
Connor Carrick
Carrick, who started the 2018-19 season with Dallas and finished it with the Devils, will remain in New Jersey for two more years after a signing a deal paying $1.5 million per season on July 16.
Mirco Mueller
Mueller signed a one-year, $1.4-million contract with the Devils on July 22.
NEW YORK RANGERS
The Rangers and Pavel Buchnevich agreed to terms on a two-year deal.
Jacob Trouba
Trouba and the Rangers agreed to a seven-year, $56-million deal to avoid arbitration on July 19.
PHILADELPHIA FLYERS
Scott Laughton
Laughton and the Flyers avoid arbitration by signing a two-year, $4.6-million deal on July 12.
PITTSBURGH PENGUINS
Zach Aston-Reese
Penguins re-signed Aston-Reese to two-year, $2-million deal on July 22.
ST. LOUIS BLUES
Jordan Binnington
The netminder avoided arbitration with the Stanley Cup champs, signing a two-year, $8.8-million deal with the Blues on July 13.
Joel Edmundson
Arbitration award: One year, $3.1 million (Hearing date: Aug. 4)
Ville Husso
Husso re-signed with the St. Louis Blues on a one-year, two-way contract three days before they were scheduled to have an arbitration hearing on July 22.
Zachary Sanford
Sanford and the Blues avoided an arbitration hearing by signing a two-year deal with an AAV of $1.5 million on July 8.
Oskar Sundqvist
Sundqvist and the Blues avoided arbitration after the two sides agreed to a four-year, $11-million contract on July 21, three days before their hearing scheduled on July 24.
TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING
Cedric Paquette
Paquette and the Lightning agreed to terms on a two-year deal (just after the player filed for arbitration on July 5) that will see the forward count for $1.65 against the cap in each of the next two seasons.
VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Malcolm Subban
Subban was scheduled for a hearing on July 20 but won’t need it — he and the Golden Knights signed a one-year deal on July 9 worth $850,000.
WASHINGTON CAPITALS
Christian Djoos
Arbitration award: One-year, $1.25 million (Hearing date: July 22)
Chandler Stephenson
Stephenson and the Capitals came to terms on a one-year, $1.05-million contract on July 27. They were slated to have an arbitration hearing on Aug. 1.
WINNIPEG JETS
Andrew Copp
Arbitration award: Two years, $4.56 million (Hearing date: July 21)
Neal Pionk
Pionk has signed a two-year, $6-million contract with the Jets on July 21. He was scheduled for an arbitration hearing with the club on July 24.
